Lee Kropp
Eureka Task Force
Eureka, MO 63025
Dear Lee,
I just want to share with you a couple
of things regarding the work you are
doing with the task force and the
benefit it has been to me.
Like a lot of
business owners, we are struggling as
much as anyone to stay afloat. We don’t
have the necessary advertising budget to
get the word out that we have moved and
are open for business. I just wanted to
let you know that in your last
advertising blitz “Discover it in
Eureka”, that I benefited from the Task
Force Campaign.
While people
were out and about, going to places on
their game cards, many managed to find
us. Here is the beauty of your work,
because of these folks were scouring the
town to complete their tasks, not only
did I pick up some local delivery
business, some school dance business, I
actually booked a wedding and some
family photography sessions. These
folks didn’t know I was here but because
your game sent them across town they
came in to see what our business was
about.
I want to thank
the Task Force for the work they are
doing in our Community. You have
generated business for my store and if
that’s not enough – look at the benefits
to the kids who win a scholarship.
Please keep the campaigns coming, I
can’t be the only store owner to benefit
from them. Also, I can’t wait to
participate in your next advertising
blitz. Keep up the GREAT work. We look
forward to helping the task force on any
future campaigns you run.
Sincerely,
Laurie McBride

RE: Eureka Merchants Task Force
To Whom It May Concern:
When our company was approached by Mr.
Kropp [Lee] to join the task force in
early 2009, there was no hesitation. We
know Lee personally to be an upstanding
businessman and a positively recognized
figure within the community.
The Eureka Merchants Task Force
effectively communicates its objectives
and goals to its members. These goals
are mainly to further our business and
other businesses within the community,
but also to ‘give back’. It was
established with just these objectives
in mind. Lee excels in formulating and
executing new strategies for the local
business community. From ‘games’ and
business expos, to a local directory
including ALL businesses within the
community, the task force [and the
people behind it] display ingenuity and
initiative to achieve their goals which
also include ours.
In a down economy, it is a challenge to
decide where to spend your marketing &
advertising dollars. The merchant task
force has been able to keep these
dollars to a minimum and provide us with
additional exposure within the
community. I personally have been
approached by several local community
members to thank me for passing along
the Local Directory. They like having
all the businesses at their fingertips,
in one place, compact and accessible –
they have even asked for additional
copies so they can have one in their car
along with their homes. The
scholarship opportunity and the ‘Eureka
Bucks’ drawings were both winners.
The Eureka Merchant Task Force has our
full support, participation and
recommendation.

Supporting the Youth of
Eureka through the recent
Eureka "BINGO" was such a
rewarding experience.
Instead of just running in
and getting their cards
stamped they took the time
to visit the Gallery, ask
questions about the Artists,
their chosen careers and
lifestyles. Many also
purchased gifts which
was additionally rewarding
for me, the Artists, the
gift recipients and the
students too!

The Eureka Merchants
Task Force has been a great asset
to the Eureka businesses. Their
"Monopoly" game, business directory,
scholarships for students, and general
support of local business have really
opened the eyes of many local residents
to what our community has to offer. As
a
Eureka business owner, I can say
that because of these different projects
we have benefited from cutomers that
nave never been in our establishment
before. I believe the Eureka Merchants
Task Force is truly working for the
success of all Eureka Businesses.

Leland,
This sounds like a great project you all
have
started - we need to continue to support
all of Missouri's small businesses.
As far as any stimulus funds available,
you may want to contact the
Governor's office. Also, I would
encourage you to call the
Missouri
Small
Business & Technology Development
Centers - they would probably best know
what tools and resources would be
available for this type of project.
Their
contact information is
573-882-8003 or
www.missouribusiness.net.
I hope this information helps, and that
you are able to continue and advance
this important project.
